High streamflow advisory now in effect for Battle River Basin

A high streamflow advisory has been put in effect for the Battle River Basin.

The advisory was issued by the Government of Alberta, Ministry of Environment and Protected Areas, which indicates the water levels have risen as a result of recent rain.

The Town of Ponoka is advising the public to be cautious around the river and to stay away from the riverbanks and keep to the walking paths.

The town added that no river-related flooding is expected at this time, but that they will continue to actively monitor the river levels.
