Red Deer records 42 millimetres of rain over weekend

After two days of consistent rain, Red Deer reportedly received over 40 millimetres over the weekend.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Red Deer had 42 mm of rain on Saturday and Sunday.

The weather summary by ECCC also reports that Lacombe had 47 mm, Rocky Mountain House received 22 mm, and Camrose had 68 mm.

Officials say lighter rain will continue this morning before the system weakens and moves on from the province today.

The weekend rainfall spanned from central to northern Alberta, with Elk Island National Park receiving the most with 133 mm.

Stony Plain had 123 mm, and Edmonton received 95 mm, along with some reported flooding and sewer backups.
