Maskwacis RCMP carried out commercial vehicle checks along Highways 2 and 611 this week, resulting in several infractions.

Police say they conducted vehicle stops on June 17-18 at high-traffic locations, resulting in 17 warnings, eight school bus inspections, 26 commercial vehicle inspections, and one warrant executed.

In addition, 34 commercial vehicles were checked, with six requiring attention, 10 with mechanical defects, and seven had logbook infractions.

“Maskwacis RCMP would like to thank the public for keeping our community and our roads safe while working together and reporting dangerous drivers,” they wrote in a media release. “Reporting this in real time will have an impact on the safety of the motoring public, with police responding while it is being observed.
