Maple Leafs land defenceman Raddysh in sign-and-trade with Lightning
TORONTO — Toronto Maple Leafs general manager John Chayka believes Darren Raddysh’s offensive breakout last season was the result of steady progression.
He expects that to continue in Toronto.
The Maple Leafs acquired Raddysh from the Tampa Bay Lightning for a 2026 fifth-round draft pick on Friday in a sign-and-trade, locking up the defenceman with an eight-year contract extension.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal is reportedly worth more than US$8 million annually.
