PELICAN NARROWS — Mounties in Saskatchewan say a suspect was arrested late Monday after a shooting in the community of Pelican Narrows that killed one person and seriously injured another.

RCMP say in an alert that police remain on scene to investigate the shooting, which took place near the community’s health clinic.

An active shooter alert was issued earlier Monday for an area around the community, and residents were asked to find a safe location and lock their doors.

Mounties have not provided details about the two victims but said no other injuries were reported.
