Red Deer company developing radar defence receives additional investment
A Red Deer company contracted to provide Canada with top-of-the-line radar technology for securing our Arctic has received an additional investment of $1.1 million in repayable funding from Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan).
Technalogix says the investment will help scale its production of high-frequency power-amplifier and transmitter technology for Canada’s next-generation Polar Over-the-Horizon Radar (POTHR) capability.
“PrairiesCan’s support is helping Technalogix move proven Canadian defence technology from advanced development into scalable production,” said Thomas King, Chief Operating Officer. “Our team has spent more than two years engineering, validating, and hardening this technology for some of the most demanding operating environments in the world. We are proud to be delivering next-generation Canadian transmitter technology.”
The transmitters are designed as a first line of defence, with the ability to monitor airspace and waterways across large geographic regions.
