Lacombe residents can have final say on fire station locations this weekend

Apr 16, 2026 | 12:34 PM

The City of Lacombe has shared a final ‘land profiles’ report looking into the viability of three shortlisted fire station locations.

The public can have its final say on the sites at the Lacombe & District Chamber of Commerce Tradeshow and Market, April 17 and 18 at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex.

A summary of public comments will then be provided to city council at a meeting in May.

As most recently reported on in March, the city is inching closer to having council finally select a new location, which comes after a report was commissioned last year to look at several spots.

Council narrowed it down to three in March, and the locations include 4410 Woodland Drive (the ball diamond site), 3910 63 Avenue (north airport lands), and 6005 50 Avenue (Lower Michener). The aforementioned report already determined Woodland Drive to be the ideal location.

The upcoming tradeshow and market runs 2 to 8 p.m. on April 17, then 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 18.
