Alberta RCMP warns against speeding as road conditions improve

Mounties say exceeding posted speed limits is unsafe even during ideal conditions.

In 2025, Alberta RCMP issued over 47,900 speeding tickets, including 4,949 in April 2025 alone.

Mounties say you can avoid a ticket and stay safe by following the posted speed limit, leaving early so you don’t feel pressure to drive fast, driving to road and weather conditions, and speaking up if you are a passenger feeling unsafe.
