Lacombe Police Service arrests resident on outstanding warrant

The Lacombe Police Service arrested a 52-year-old resident with an outstanding warrant after an incident in which the suspect initially failed to comply with police.

On March 9 at 9:43 p.m., Lacombe Police attended the area of Garden Road and Westview Drive to effect an arrest on an individual with an outstanding warrant.

Police made multiple attempts to gain compliance, but the wanted resident refused to comply and remained inside the residence.

Police then set up containment at the residence while seeking a warrant to enter it.

During the warrant submission process, the person surrendered and was arrested without incident. Police say at no point was there a risk to the public.
