RCMP arrest Red Deer man wanted on Canada-wide warrants

A Red Deer man wanted on a Canada-wide warrants was arrested last week in the community.

The 40-year-old man was arrested on March 6 at a residence near 58 Street and 60 Avenue.

The Alberta RCMP’s Community Response Team arrested the suspect with assistance from the Red Deer Crime Reduction Team, Red Deer RCMP, K Division Police Dog Services, and the K Division Emergency Response Team.

Police also arrested a 24-year-old Edmonton woman.

During the RCMP’s investigation, they located and seized 54 grams of methamphetamine, six grams of fentanyl, $1,105 Canadian currency, an extendable baton, two BB guns, and stolen mail

As a result, they were jointly charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000, and three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The man was additionally charged with being unlawfully at large and the woman was additionally charged with four counts of failing to comply with release order.

The pair were held for a bail hearing and both were remanded into custody. They are to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 12.
