Didsbury RCMP investigate attempted break and enter

Didsbury Mounties are asking for the public’s help in identifying a residential break-in suspect.

On Jan. 27, 2026, at approximately 4:40 p.m,, Didsbury RCMP received a report an attempted break and enter that occurred in southwest Didsbury.

Police say a masked male approached a family outside their residence. The suspect allegedly attempted to enter the home while brandishing two knives. However, RCMP say the homeowners were able to force the male out of the residence. No injuries were reported. 

The suspect is described as:

  • approximately 6 feet tall,
  • 250 pounds,
  • Police believe the suspect may be associated with a Black Chevrolet Malibu. 

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to the public. Mounties note, incidents of this nature are extremely rare in the town of Didsbury. 

A photo of the suspect has been obtained. Police are asking anyone with information about this suspect or additional surveillance to contact police. 

Didsbury RCMP continue to investigate and ask anyone with information or video surveillance from the area at the time of the incident to contact Didsbury RCMP at 403-335-3382.
