Red Deer Arts Council presents Februllage in Community Gallery

Jan 7, 2026 | 4:05 PM

The Red Deer Arts Council is presenting Februllage on display in the Community Gallery from Jan. 5 until Feb. 20, 2026.

Februllage: Scavenging Through the Years showcases a collection of daily collages created in response to one-word prompts from the global February art challenge, Februllage. Built from found magazine images and guided by instinct, humor, and the joy of spontaneous creation, these works capture moments of curiosity and play across multiple years of participating in the global challenge.

Viewers are invited to interact with the exhibit in their own way—by guessing the prompts behind each collage or using the provided guide to uncover them as they explore.

Jaclyn Bell is a self-taught collage artist based in Edmonton after spending several years in Red Deer. Her love for collage began in high school, filling homework pages with magazine clippings, a joyful obsession with leaving no white space behind. She fully embraced collage as an art form in 2022 through Februllage—a month-long creative challenge that became a beloved annual tradition. For Jaclyn, collage is a blend of play, intuition, humour, and unexpected combinations. She delights in the scavenger hunt of finding the right images, drawing on her lifelong love of scavenger hunts. Beyond collage, Jaclyn finds joy in dancing Lindy hop, drumming, sewing vintage-inspired clothing, knitting, and has crafted competition-winning beards.
