Free mobile mammography service coming to Ponoka

Dec 23, 2025 | 9:57 AM

Primary Care Alberta announced that a mobile mammography service is coming to Ponoka in the new year.

Officials say a mobile mammography trailer will be at the Ponoka Community Health Centre on January 10 and from January 12 to 17.

The service will be available for those aged 45 to 74 at no cost; however, appointments are mandatory.

To book an appointment to learn more about the program, call 1-800-667-0604.

Primary Care Alberta explained that a mammogram is an X-ray of the breast and that screening mammograms are the best way to detect breast cancer early.

According to the screen test mobile schedule, the mobile mammography trailer will also be in Olds from January 28 to February 4, in Didsbury from February 5-10, and in Rocky Mountain House from February 11-21.

In addition to mobile mammography clinics, screening can also be performed at specific radiology clinics and some hospitals.
