Local organizations benefit

Lacombe County council approves funding allocations

A number of local organizations stand to benefit from some Lacombe County funding allocations approved by council this week.

Among the 2026 applications for operating support of historical, cultural, tourism and visitor information facilities and services, council approved $140,666 in funding under Policy RC(10):

• $63,036 to the Lacombe Regional Tourism and Marketing Association
• $43,361 to the Lacombe and District Historical Society
• $17,855 to the Mirror and District Museum Association
• $10,000 to the Bentley Museum Society
• $4,080 to the Alix Wagon Wheel Museum
• $2,334 to the Eckville and District Historical Society

Meantime, Lacombe County council also approved the allocation of $11,000 in 2025 Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) unexpended surplus funding as follows:

• $4,000 to Lacombe and District FCSS
• $4,000 to Alix Mirror Wellness Supports Society
• $2,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lacombe and District
• $1,000 to BGC Wolf Creek Lacombe
