Jailyn Bablitz – Queens hockey

Jailyn Bablitz had an outstanding weekend, helping the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens hockey team earn back-to-back victories over the Medicine Hat College Rattlers.

Bablitz, a fifth-year student-athlete from Valleyview, scored in overtime in RDP’s 3-2 victory against the Rattlers on Friday.

On Saturday, Bablitz, a Bachelor of Education student, scored the lone goal in the shootout, which propelled the Queens to a 2-1 win over the Rattlers.

The RDP Queens (7-2) rank first in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women’s Hockey.

Bablitz and the Queens will face off against the Olds College Broncos on November 6 and 7.

Kody Willick – Kings hockey

Kody Willick was a key contributor to the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings hockey team’s two wins over the NAIT Ooks, recording a total of four points.

In Friday’s 6-3 victory, Willick, a talented second-year forward, assisted on his team’s first and sixth goals.

Saskatoon’s Willick assisted on the second goal and scored the Kings’ third marker in a 5-4 road win against the Ooks on Saturday.

Willick has been an integral part of the RDP Kings’ undefeated record (6-0) and first-place standing in ACAC Men’s Hockey.

Next, Willick and the Kings will play a pair of games against the Concordia University Thunder.
