The City of Red Deer has announced as of Sept. 1, there will be rate changes to fees at the city’s recreation facilities and cemetery services.

The change comes following 2024-25 budget deliberations by city council where they agreed an increase to admission fees, facility rental rates, and cemetery services was needed to account for rising operational costs.

“Our ongoing priority is to ensure broad access to recreation opportunities, even as we address rising costs, staffing limitations, and increased maintenance demands,” says Bre Fitzpatrick, Acting Recreation Superintendent. “As part of that commitment, we continue to offer the Fee Assistance Program to support residents who need financial assistance in accessing City Arts and Recreation programs and services.”

As a result, daily admission to the Collicutt Centre, G.H. Dawe Community Centre, Recreation Centre, Michener Aquatic Centre, Servus Arena, Kinsmen Community Arenas and Setters Place at Great Chief Park has changed. The facility rental rates are also changing.

According to the City of Red Deer website, daily admission to the Collicutt Centre for an adult will be $10.60. A full list of the rate changes can be found here.

Meantime, their will also be changes to the monthly recreation passes. A recreation all access pass as an adult is $53.10, a recreation plus pass is $46.60, and a recreation value pass is $30.90. The price differences for all three vary by age.

There will be rate changes to the 10 punch passes at the above-mentioned facilities and for group admission fees, as well as childminding fees at the Collicutt Centre and G.H. Dawe Community Centre.

The rates for cemetery services have also changed and are reflected on the city’s website.
