Phase 2 construction of West Park Gardens Redevelopment Project now underway

The West Park Community Association says construction on Phase 2 of the West Park Gardens Redevelopment Project is now underway.

The new phase of the project includes new trees, an amphitheatre next to the gazebo, a food forest and rock trail through the food forest, a paved trail to the amphitheatre, an advanced sledding hill, benches, and picnic tables.

The association says the contractor has asked the public to avoid the area when work is occurring and to proceed with caution when it’s not.

The project is happening next to the gazebo and the West Park Community Garden, across 58 Avenue from the West Park Shopping Centre.

The association is also asking citizens to consider making a donation to the project. The total Phase 2 budget is $205,500.

This comes after the completion of Phase 1, which included the construction of the gazebo and the development of the area surrounding it such as ramp accessibility, benches, a BBQ pad, and landscaping.
