A pair of central Alberta athletes gave it their all, but came up short on the leaderboard among the top talent in the nation at the 2025 Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship in Bathurst, New Brunswick this week.

From Aug. 12-15 at the Gowan Brae Golf & Country Club, Innisfail’s Brae Rogalczyk and Red Deer’s Casey Sliva took part in the four-round tournament.

Sliva failed to make the cut following the second round after shooting 13 over-par the first two days of the tournament. Meanwhile, Rogalczyk made the cut, but finished tied for 58th at 15 over-par.

The competition featured 156 of some of the country’s top junior golf talent including Toronto’s Dawson Lew, who was crowned champion after an 11 under-par performance.
