Central Alberta Heroes Challenge looking for more teams to help Make-A-Wish in September

Jul 22, 2025 | 11:28 AM

The 2025 Heroes Challenge by Make-A-Wish is still looking for more teams in central Alberta.

The event goes Sept. 24 at The Dome in Gasoline Alley, with teams competing in different sports and challenges, all to raise money for Make-A-Wish Canada’s Northern Alberta chapter.

“With close to 40 children in the central Alberta area waiting for their wish to be granted, we need your support now more than ever,” says Kathryn McLean, development manager.

“Every wish granted is a turning point in a child’s medical journey, bringing hope, healing, and the belief that anything is possible. Be part of these life-changing moments – be a wishmaker!”

A team needs to be comprised of five adults, and each team is asked to raise $5,000 — or about half the cost of the average wish. Also, each team will be paired with a Wish Kid on the day of.

The event is followed up by a mid-day after party at Bo’s Bar and Stage.
