Red Deer Regional Airport benefitting from increased traffic during G7 Summit
Restricted airspace around Calgary due to the G7 Summit in nearby Kananaskis has benefitted the Red Deer Regional Airport with increased traffic.
Red Deer is not in restricted airspace, therefore has seen an increase in charter flights over the last couple of days. That according to Red Deer Regional Airport CEO Nancy Paish who said they’re getting the charters that would typically head into Springbank Airport, just west of Calgary.
“It’s been an exciting time for us,” she said.
The G7 Summit will wrap up on Tuesday, June 17 which includes some of the most powerful leaders from across the globe.
