Red Deer County councillor will run for mayor in October
Red Deer County Councillor Brent Ramsay says he will seek the mayorship this fall.
Ramsay, who represents Division 5 currently, shared his intentions late Friday that he hopes to replace Mayor Jim Wood, who is retiring from council after 21 years and four terms as mayor.
Municipal elections in Alberta are slated for Oct. 20.
“I am excited and honoured to put my name forward for the office of mayor. My family and I are extremely blessed to live in the best county in Alberta, and I want to do my part to keep it that way,” he said.
