Rebels sign defenceman Nate Yellowaga

The Red Deer Rebels have signed left-shooting defenceman Nate Yellowaga to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

The 17-year-old from Calgary was drafted by the Rebels in round nine, 194th overall in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft but has played the last two seasons in the AJHL/ BCHL with the Brooks Bandits.

He played 54 games with the Bandits where he recorded 14 points and added two assists in 17 playoff games.

Standing at five-feet 11-inches tall and 175 pounds, he’s committed to play NCAA Div. I hockey with the Maine Black Bears.

His father, Kevin, played in the WHL from 1985-89 for the Brandon Wheat Kings, Moose Jaw Warriors, and Saskatoon Blades.
