City of Red Deer opens applications for new municipal policing committee
The City of Red Deer is calling on members of the community to join the new municipal policing committee.
This week they opened online applications for community members to fill out, and if chosen, will help guide local policing priorities, make sure public concerns are heard, and build a stronger connection between the police and the community.
Those who are interested must be at least 18 years-old, passionate about public safety, not employed by police, ready to commit time to monthly meetings, and contribute meaningfully.
Experience in similar roles such as leadership, governance, and public safety is an asset. They also encourage applications from Indigenous peoples, newcomers, and members of marginalized communities.
