Alberta RCMP investigating suspected homicide in Red Deer

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has opened an investigation following the discovery of a deceased female in Red Deer on March 10.

That evening, at about 8 p.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of a deceased person at an apartment building in Red Deer’s Bower area (4760 30 Street). Upon arrival, police found the body of a 23-year-old woman.

The deceased was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and police say the death has been deemed a homicide.

Although it is early in the investigation, RCMP believe this was a targeted attack and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
