Late night police presence in Ponoka cleared

Ponoka RCMP report that a heavy police presence seen east of Highway 2A last night has ended.

Two individuals have been safely arrested in connection with the incident, which was initially thought to involve one suspect and a weapon.

More information is expected to be provided soon.

On Feb. 18, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Ponoka RCMP advised of a heavy police presence east of Highway 2A, north of Township Road 440 along Battle River.

Residents were asked to stay inside away from their windows, and lock their doors.
