The Pats scored the opening goal after forward Keets Fawcett beat goaltender Chase Wutzke off the pass from Cohen Klassen.

Luke Vlooswyk tied the game with a perfect shot down low with 18:33 left in the second period off a pass from Parker MacDougall.

Over a minute later, rookie forward Nolan Schmidt knocked in the loose puck in the crease after he crashed the net to give the Rebels their first lead of the game.

However, with 4:45 left in the second, the Pats tied the game at two off the stick of Klassen who scored on a four-on-three powerplay. The Pats finished the game going one for four on the powerplay and the Rebels were held scoreless on three opportunities.

Regina retook the lead approximately a minute and 30 seconds later after Zach Pantelakis tipped in a shot from Reese Hamilton.

In the third period, the Pats extended their lead 4-2 nearly seven minutes in scored by Zachary Lansard but with 9:20 left in the game, Rebels import forward Samuel Drancak scored on a wrap around attempt.

The Rebels nearly found the equalizer with 4:18 left in the game, when defenceman Jace Weir was sprung on a breakaway shortly after he left the penalty box, but was robbed by goaltender Ewan Huet.
