Five Red Deer Rebels have been named to NHL Central Scouting’s mid-season rankings for the upcoming 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

Matthew Gard, Luke Vlooswyk, Ty Coupland, Jaxon Fuder, and Derek Thurston were among the 66 Western Hockey League Players listed in the rankings for North American skaters.

This season, Gard has nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 39 games, which is three points more than he had last year.

The 17-year-old forward from Winnipeg is in his second year with the club after he was taken 39th overall in the second round of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.

Vlooswyk is in his rookie season with the Rebels and in 40 games has one goal and four assists. The 18-year-old defenceman from Calgary was taken by the Rebels in the first round, 17th overall, in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.

Fuder, an 18-year-old forward from Cold Lake, signed with the Rebels in October after starting the season in the BCHL. He has 21 points in 35 games in his rookie season.

Meanwhile, Thurston has nine points and leads the Rebels with a plus three reading.

The 18-year-old defenceman from Delta, B.C., was selected 112th overall by Red Deer in the sixth round in 2021.

Coupland was acquired by the Rebels via trade last week from Swift Current and has 21 points in 37 games this season.

The North Vancouver, B.C. native was selected by the Broncos in round two, 42nd overall, in 2022.
