Red Deer River Naturalists finds $500,000 in its stocking
The financial cushion of the Red Deer River Naturalists (RDRN) is now $500,000 larger thanks to a generous donation to its endowment fund, the Red Deer River Naturalists Fund for Nature.
The RDRN endowment fund was opened with the Community Foundation of Central Alberta (CFCAB) in 2021 and provides a stable financial reserve fund to support environmental stewardship programming, now and into the future.
“This remarkable donation demonstrates the way that philanthropy can be used as a smart financial strategy for both donors and charities,” said Erin Peden, CFCAB executive director. “The Community Foundation exists to provide future-focused options for agencies in our region. We were thrilled to facilitate this donation, and to continue our work with the Red Deer River Naturalists to develop a strong fiscal foundation for their future.”
RDRN encourages citizens to appreciate and defend biodiversity, ecological integrity and environmental stewardship through flora and fauna focus groups and field trips, conservation and natural habitat stewardship programs and more.
