Freezing rain warning issued for Edmonton to Red Deer corridor

Freezing rain is on the way for the Red Deer region, according to an advisory from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), issued at 11:54 a.m. on Dec. 4.

According to ECCC:

Freezing rain has developed across north-central Alberta and is moving into the Edmonton to Red Deer corridor.

This freezing rain will come to an end later this afternoon as it moves east.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Utility outages may occur.

Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
