Nov 1, 2024 | 4:57 PM

A 28-year-old resident of Maskwacis, Nicholas Morin, is wanted by Wetaskiwin RCMP for his alleged involvement in a stabbing that occurred in Wetaskiwin this week.

On Oct. 28 around midnight, Wetaskiwin police responded to a 911 call stating a male had been stabbed at a residence. Officers immediately called for a high priority Emergency Medical Services (EMS) response after arriving; before EMS arrived, but the victim lost consciousness and stopped breathing while officers applied pressure to the wound.

RCMP say they successfully administered CPR and the victim regained consciousness. Officers transported the victim to the Wetaskiwin Hospital themselves, where the victim was then transported to an Edmonton hospital via STARS. Mounties say their condition has since been stable.

Morin has been charged with and is wanted for aggravated assault, disobeying a court order, and two counts of failing to comply with release conditions.
