City of Red Deer and Red Deer County seek public input on Intermunicipal Development Plan
The City of Red Deer and Red Deer County are seeking residents, business owners, and community partners to participate in shaping the future of the region through engagement opportunities for the new Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP).
The IDP is a collaborative agreement intended to ensure both municipalities work together on key issues like land use, transportation, services, economic development, and Truth & Reconciliation.
“The Intermunicipal Development Plan is a vital tool for ensuring that Red Deer and Red Deer County continue to grow and thrive together. By working collaboratively, we can create a region that benefits all citizens, while preserving the unique character of each municipality. I encourage all community members to take part in this process and share their perspectives on how we can move forward together,” said Red Deer Mayor Ken Johnston.
The IDP also outlines a shared vision for how land, infrastructure, and services are to be managed across municipal boundaries to create a cooperative framework between the City and the County.
