Lacombe resident wins $250,000 on lotto ticket

A Lacombe resident has won $250,000 on a lotto ticket.

Marvin Z. is the lucky winner after playing the Extra on the July 23 Lotto Max draw.

The man says he stopped at a gas station on his way to get groceries and checked his tickets.

“I usually buy Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 on a regular basis,” he explained. “I scanned my Lotto Max ticket and thought I’d won $2,500 which I was really excited about.”

He says the cashier checked it and clarified that it was $250,000.

“I think they were even more excited than me,” he added.

Then he called his wife with the good news.

The lucky couple are possibly going to start by taking a trip to Vegas to celebrate.

The winning ticket was purchased from Red Deer Resort & Casino. The prize was won by matching all seven digits of the Extra selection in the July 23 draw: 2374418.
