Community to gather for International FASD Day
International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Day occurs on September 9, and the Central Alberta FASD Network is holding a community gathering to mark the occasion.
September is FASD awareness month, and the local FASD Network will be holding their awareness event at Great Chief Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Prior to the event, at City Hall at 9 a.m. Mayor Ken Johnston will give a proclamation to mark the occasion.
The intention of the awareness month is to stress the importance of going alcohol-free during the nine months of pregnancy.
