Sylvan Lake undertaking Heritage Management Plan project

Aug 1, 2024 | 4:23 PM

The Town of Sylvan Lake is getting down to business on a new Heritage Management Plan project.

The project is in collaboration with the Sylvan Lake Archives, and ultimately aims to preserve and celebrate the town’s historic buildings.

The project will inventory, preserve, document, and celebrate Sylvan Lake’s heritage assets while planning for ongoing heritage asset preservation. The project will take place in several phases over the next few years, the Town says.

Phases

  1. Heritage Survey: a comprehensive database of historical buildings and sites
  2. Heritage Inventory: detailed descriptions and official statements of significance for each site
  3. Heritage Management Plan: guides the long-term preservation of these heritage assets

This project is funded by Alberta’s Heritage Preservation Partnership Program.

Once details become available a project page will be created on engage.sylvanlake.ca.
