Ponoka Aquaplex to host ‘Sketch and Swim’ event
The Town of Ponoka has announced the “Sketch and Swim” event on Wednesday, August 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. This fun event invites swimmers of all ages to blend art and aquatic fun at the Aquaplex (5315 46 Avenue).
Town officials say the first 40 swimmers to arrive will receive a flutter-board canvas and crayons, providing them with the tools to sketch their aquatic inspirations while they swim. Whether you’re an aspiring artist or just looking for a fun afternoon, “Sketch and Swim” promises to be a memorable experience, say Town officials.
“We are always looking for creative ways to engage our community and enhance the swimming experience at the Aquaplex,” said Andrew Jones, Manager of Parks, Recreation & Facilities. “This event allows participants to express their creativity in a fun and enjoyable setting.”
The Town says daily drop-in admission costs apply. The flutter-board canvas and crayons are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to arrive early to secure your spot and receive your canvas.
