Found human remains confirmed as those of missing central Alberta teen

Mounties say human remains found in central Alberta last month are those of a missing teen.

On June 24, 2024, Maskwacis RCMP received a report of found human remains in Maskwacis. Police say the remains were taken to the Officer of the Chief Medical Examiner and were confirmed to belong to missing 17-year-old Christopher Crier, of Maskwacis.

Mounties say this remains an active investigation and additional information is not available at this time.

RCMP express their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Background

Maskwacis RCMP continue to search for Christopher Crier who is now 17-years-old. Christopher was last seen at his residence on Samson First Nation on October 1, 2022.

RCMP have conducted multiple searches and made numerous inquiries. RCMP have learned that Christopher may have had plans to head to Edmonton.

There is concern for his safety.
