Red Deer AP and IB students to have art displayed in public gallery

Red Deer Arts Council and Red Deer Public Library are pleased to present, HangUps and Insights: The 16th Annual IB and AP Art Show with Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School and Hunting Hills High School is running from May 22 to June 16, 2024 in the Kiwanis Public Art Gallery.

Featuring the artwork of the 2024 graduating students of the Advanced Placement and the International Baccalaureate Art Programs, officials say this exhibition showcases the new artistic discoveries of these young artists. Visitors are encouraged to understand how they are considering the world and their experience through this show. From paintings to ceramics, to prints and drawings and beyond, organizers say the next generation of young artists is ready to show their creations. Visitors can explore their work with them.

Visitors can see what inspires these student artists as they develop their artistic perspective through their interactions with their culture and environment. You can explore their work and try to imagine where their art will take them in the future.

First Friday Red Deer Opening: June 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm with Students and Instructors; everyone is welcome to attend and help celebrate these fine young artists.
