Red Deer County council approves strategic priorities

Red Deer County council has passed its 2024 Strategic Priorities document.

The document is developed collaboratively between council and senior administration and outlines the primary focuses for budget, planning work, and outcomes for the year. It also provides context for residents and property owners and directs administration, so their work aligns with council’s.

The primary strategic priorities identified by council include:

1. Procurement Forensic Review: Audit
2. Solar/ Wind Energy: Amendments
3. Gravel Overlay District: Amendments
4. Intermunicipal Development Plan: 1st Reading
5. Municipal Development Plan – Third Parcels
6. Regional/ County Recreation Framework
7. Governance Review: Implementation
