New Red Deer Justice one of three appointed by Alberta government
Alberta’s government has appointed three justices to the Alberta Court of Justice to help resolve civil, criminal and family matters faster.
Provincial officials say Albertans deserve confidence in their justice system, knowing it has the necessary resources to protect them and their communities. To ensure timely access to justice, Alberta’s government says it is filling three positions at the Alberta Court of Justice – two in Edmonton and one in the central region.
“Kanwarinder (Sony) Singh Ahluwalia, KC, Monica Brown and William Hendsbee, KC, are highly qualified lawyers who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the courtroom,” says Mickey Amery, Minister of Justice and Attorney General. “These appointments reflect Alberta’s government commitment to providing Albertans with an accessible, efficient and effective justice system.”
“I welcome these three outstanding individuals to the Court of Justice,” adds James Hunter, chief justice, Alberta Court of Justice. “I know them to be
hard-working and well qualified and know they will help make their divisions and the court stronger. I thank the minister for his continued efforts in filling vacancies and his commitment to our court.”
