Red Deer road closure and traffic disruptions beginning Monday

Apr 5, 2024 | 1:50 PM

The City of Red Deer has announced some road closure and traffic disruptions for Monday.

A portion of Ross Street, from 42 Avenue to 43 Avenue, will be reduced to two lanes as westbound traffic is re-routed on the eastbound lanes to allow construction crews to access underground infrastructure.

The traffic disruption will be in effect from 6 a.m. on April 8 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10.

As well, a portion of 47 Avenue, between 53 Street and 55 Street, will be closed to northbound traffic as construction crews replace underground infrastructure.

Detours for northbound traffic will begin on April 8 and are expected to be in place until 5 p.m. on June 12, weather dependent. Southbound traffic will continue to be permitted throughout construction.

The City says residents’ patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated and remind drivers to slow down when approaching or driving in construction areas, se extra caution while crews are present, to obey all signs, and to find an alternate route if possible.
