Roughly 40 Red Deerians get free hair cuts and manicures at local Salvation Army
Roughly 40 Red Deerians gathered at the Salvation Army on Wednesday to get free haircuts and manicures by local students.
Their third annual event was partnered with MC College students, eight hair stylists and six estheticians, to provide the beauty services at the church and office space.
Major Kent Hepditch, Pastor at the Salvation Army, said there’s a need for this event in the community.
“It’s so expensive to get a haircut. Even for men, it’s not cheap so a lot of people just can’t afford to get a nice haircut,” he said. “When it’s starting to get long, you don’t feel the same but when you get your hair done, it makes you feel so good.”
