‘Polar Plunge’ event for Special Olympics goes Sunday in Red Deer

This weekend, the Law Enforcement Torch Run returns to communities around Alberta, including Red Deer.

The occasion sees several different events participated in around the province by police and other law enforcement agency members, and it’s all to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Alberta.

In Red Deer, the event takes the form of a short torch run (from RDP to the Hall of Fame) before a polar plunge.

It all goes Sunday, Feb. 25 at the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, with plunge registration at 10 a.m. and the main event at 11, at the Hall.
