Rebels This Week: January 15-21
REBELS RECAP
The Rebels are hot as they enter the week on a four-game winning streak and with points in a season high seven-straight.
SAT. JAN. 13 – Captain Kai Uchacz scored his first hat trick of the season to lead the Rebels to a 4-1 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings as the Peavey Mart Centrium. Uchacz reached 25 goals on the season as he scored even strength, on a power play and into an empty net. Dwayne Jean Jr. scored an empty netter to run his point streak to three games. Chase Wutzke allowed just one goal against for the third game in a row. Red Deer outshot Edmonton 41-29 and was 1-for-4 on the power play while Edmonton was 0-for-5.
FRI. JAN. 12 – A two-goal first period would be enough for the Rebels in a solid 3-1 win over the visiting Tri-City Americans at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Carson Birnie scored 29 seconds into the game. Talon Brigley scored the eventual game winner late in the opening frame. Mats Lindgren scored a power play tally late in period two. Kalan Lind had two assists and Chase Wutzke earned the win in net. Red Deer outshot Tri-City 49-19 and was 1-for-4 on the power play while the Americans were 0-for-3.
