A Better World (ABW) has rescheduled their 4th annual Cold Weather Walk due to extreme weather conditions.

Originally scheduled for Sunday, January 14, the two kilometre walk of low difficulty will now take place on January 21, at the same time and place of 2 p.m. at Cranna Lake (42 Woodland dr.) in Lacombe, corner of Cedar Crescent.

ABW says the decision to reschedule was made to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants.

“As we enjoy the comfort of our warm homes, let us take a moment to reflect on those less fortunate who are homeless in our community and living on the streets in our freezing Alberta weather,” organizers said in a statement.

Funds raised during the walk will support The Mustard Seed, who provide shelter, clothing and meals to those experiencing poverty or homelessness, and school lunch programs for children in need.

Interested donors can sponsor a walker by donating directly on The Mustard Seed website, adding in the comment section that it is for ABW cold weather walk.

Participants can also bring a cheque or mail it to: Mustard Seed c/o Scott Tilbury, 6002 54 Avenue Red Deer, AB, T4N 4M8.
