Red Deer hockey product invited to Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp
Red Deer’s Nate Danielson of the Brandon Wheat Kings is one of 30 players invited to Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp, Dec. 10-13 in Oakville, Ontario.
The 19-year-old forward drafted by the Detroit Red Wings earlier this year, has 22 points in 22 games with the Wheat Kings so far this season, including 10 goals and 12 assists.
The 30 players, including four goaltenders, 10 defencemen and 16 forwards, will compete for a chance to wear the Maple Leaf at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship, Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Selection camp will take place at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex and will include practices and a pair of games against a team of U SPORTS all-stars, Dec. 12 at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT and Dec. 13 at noon ET/9 a.m. PT.
