Upward trend continues for average rents in Red Deer

Average rents in the city of Red Deer continued their upward trend in October.

According to the latest National Rent Report from rentals.ca, the average rent for a one-bedroom unit in Red Deer last month was $1,249 per month, up 3.1 per cent from September and a whopping 29 per cent from October 2022.

That places Red Deer 32nd on the list of 35 Canadian cities included in the report.

The average rent for a two-bedroom place in October, meanwhile, was $1,464 per month, up 4.4 per cent from September and 16.8 per cent from the same month last year.

Elsewhere in Alberta, Calgary placed 23rd on the list with an average rent of $1,733 per month for a one-bedroom unit, and $2,155 per month for a two-bedroom place.

Edmonton placed 30th on the list with an average rent of $1,284 per month for a one-bedroom unit in October, and $1,596 per month for a two-bedroom.

Fort McMurray was 33rd on the list with an average rent of $1,226 per month for a one-bedroom place in October, and $1,478 per month for a two-bedroom.

Vancouver, B.C., topped the list with an average rent of $2,872 per month for a one-bedroom unit in October, and $3,777 per month for a two-bedroom.

The national average was $1,889 per month for a one-bedroom unit in October, and $2,329 per month for a two-bedroom.
