Ponoka RCMP charge two with attempted murder

Ponoka RCMP have arrested and charged two people with attempted murder, among other alleged offenses.

On Oct. 13, RCMP received a report of a serious assault that occurred in a residential area of Ponoka. Upon arrival, the victim was found to have suffered multiple apparent stab wounds, along with other injuries.

The victim and two accused are known to each other, police say.

Charged are:

Cree Lightfoot, 21, a resident of Maskwacis:

  • Attempted murder
  • Aggravated assault
  • Failing to comply with release conditions (x2).

Cree Lightfoot has been taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with her next court date set for November 3, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Ponoka.

Tracy Lightfoot, 48, a resident of Maskwacis:

  • Attempted murder
  • Aggravated assault
  • Failing to comply with release conditions.

Tracy Lightfoot has been taken before a justice of the peace and remanded in custody with their next court date set for Nov. 24, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Ponoka.
