New fishing dock installed at Lions Centennial Park in Ponoka
Central Alberta fishing enthusiasts are encouraged to grab their rods and head over to Lions Centennial Park in Ponoka to enjoy a new t-shaped dock that has been installed at the fishing pond located at the north end of the park (on Highway 2A north of Highway 53).
Town officials say the new floating dock has handrails and an access ramp that makes it more accessible to people with mobility challenges.
The pond has also been recently restocked by Alberta Fish and Wildlife and the Ponoka Lions Club with approximately 600 trout.
“We’re excited that the new dock is installed and ready for families to begin enjoying the fishing season on the first day of summer,” said Andrew Jones, Manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities for the Town of Ponoka.
