Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit investigating central Alberta homicide

A central Alberta man has been charged following a fatal stabbing over the weekend.

On June 3, 2023, just after 10 p.m., Maskwacis RCMP received a report of a stabbing that had occurred at a residence on Samson Cree Nation.

Upon arrival, RCMP located a victim with serious injuries. Police attempted to administer first aid to the victim and called EMS. Sadly, upon EMS arrival, Mounties say the victim who has been identified as a 34-year-old male resident of Maskwacis was deceased. Officers quickly located and arrested a suspect.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was dispatched and have taken over the investigation with the assistance of Maskwacis RCMP.
