Red Deer home sales increase in April but lower than same month last year

Red Deer home sales were higher in April when compared to March but lower than the same month last year.

According to the Central Alberta Realtors Association (CARA), there were 181 units sold in April, up from 147 in March but down from 239 units sold in April 2022.

Year-to-date numbers show 524 units sold in Red Deer during the first four months of this year, down from 744 units sold to this point last year.

According to CARA, the average sale price in Red Deer in April was $360,819, up from $333,211 in March and $348,134 in April 2022.

Meanwhile, the average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer last month was 42 days, down from 44 days in March, but up from 41 days in April 2022.

For the entire central Alberta market, there were 477 units sold in April, up from 438 in March, but down from 690 units sold during the same month last year.

Year-to-date numbers show 1,391 units sold throughout central Alberta during the first four months of this year, down from 2,143 units sold during the same time in 2022.

According to CARA, the average sale price in central Alberta last month was $355,050, up from $336,056 in March, but down from $366,098 in April 2022.

The average number of days to sell a home in central Alberta last month was 56, down from 61 days in March, but up from 51 days in April of last year.
